I write about the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Higher education. Research. Outreach to Nebraska. UNL is an incredible place full of interesting people doing astounding work that impacts the world.

And I get to work here.

UNL Outstanding Educator of the Year weathers earthquake in Japan

When the earthquake hit this morning, UNL Economics Professor Carlos Asarta was touring Tokyo Tower (he’s scheduled to present a seminar at Waseda University tomorrow).

He was able to share this video. I love how he ends with the message to his students that he plans to be in class on Monday!

UNL Asarta CBA Economics

Asarta received the Association of Students at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (ASUN) Outstanding Educator of the Year in November. He grew up in Spain and came to UNL to both swim and receive his college education. Asarta received his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate at UNL and now teaches Principles of Macro and Microeconomics and the Intermediate Microeconomic Theory courses.
