Jack Hoffman, a 7-year-old cancer patient, was undoubtedly the star of Saturday’s Nebraska spring game. The Husker fan and friend of the football team led the Huskers in rushing yards on the day.
It’s things like this that make me proud to work at the University of Nebraska.

Just as #UNL students return from spring break, so does the exercising of the right to free speech in front of the Nebraska Union.
Coincidence?
UNL is the only Nebraska college or university to make the list.
Affordability matters to everyone. So if you know a high school senior, encourage her/him to apply to UNL.
And to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 1.
In-state students may even qualify for free tuition up to 15 credit hours per semester through the CollegeBound Nebraska program. But they have to complete the FAFSA to qualify.
“The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is a wonderful school that allows a student to create one’s own destiny by supplying caring professors, ample opportunities for research and growth both academically and socially, in a college town environment second to none,” the Princeton Review editors wrote.

One month ago today, on September 24, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln community shared 24 hours of life through social media. We called it #UNL24.

Here’s what we learned (or relearned):
1. The UNL community is filled with amazing stories from a variety of perspectives.
2. Barriers are low. People are so fluent in social media that inviting a university community to share stories around a simple (and fun) theme takes leg work but not much convincing.
3. The content people shared was powerful - both because so much of it was authentic to that person’s experience and resonated as such or because it was so weighted with emotion, particularly about that person’s connection to UNL.

If you like being high-minded about topics in music, UNL has the non-major programs for you. Classes include:
-Issues in Music and the Arts, Music and Film
-The Music Experience
-History of Rock Music
If you’ve got the itch to perform, your bases are covered there, too. UNL offers a multitude of seminars and ensembles, as well as the ability for non-music majors to participate in Campus Band, University Chorale and Varsity Men’s Chorus without auditioning.
